The Moran Frame

Burlington, VT | MVVA, INC.

2024

The FRAME is a transformative waterfront revitalization project in downtown Burlington, Vermont, reimagining the former Moran Municipal Generating Plant as a five-acre public park and cultural destination along Lake Champlain. Developed through a community-informed visioning process led by the MVVA team, the design preserves the site’s historic steel structure while introducing elevated accessible pathways, panoramic waterfront overlooks, native landscapes, event spaces, vendor areas, and strengthened connections to surrounding parks and the Island Line Trail. The project transforms a remediated industrial landmark into an active year-round civic and cultural hub that reconnects Burlington’s neighborhoods to the waterfront.

MY ROLE: As Project Manager, I led day-to-day coordination across all phases of the project, serving as a key liaison between the client, MVVA team, consultant team, and project stakeholders. This included organizing and facilitating client presentations, planning and coordinating public engagement events, developing graphics, renderings, and presentation materials, and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers, and designers.

Designing for flexibility is key so that the park can evolve with changing uses over time.
