Cincinnati, OH
2023
Located at the heart of the University of Cincinnati campus, the Old Chemistry Building landscape redevelopment transforms a challenging network of steep slopes, stairs, retaining walls, and fragmented circulation into an accessible and vibrant campus crossroads. Developed in coordination with building renovations, the project improves ADA access to all primary entrances, strengthens pedestrian connections in every direction, and creates welcoming outdoor gathering spaces for students, faculty, and staff. A carefully designed native planting strategy introduces year-round seasonal interest, while durable paving, furnishings, and flexible seating support daily campus life and social interaction. By integrating universal accessibility, landscape performance, and a strong sense of place, the redesigned Old Chem grounds establish a seamless connection to the broader campus and create an inviting environment for learning, meeting, and recreation.
MY ROLE: As Project Manager, I oversaw the project from initial planning through design development, serving as the primary point of contact between the client, architectural team, consultants, and internal MVVA staff. My responsibilities included contract administration, project budgeting and invoicing, schedule management, consultant coordination, and oversight of drawing production and submissions. I led project correspondence, prepared client and stakeholder presentations, developed renderings and graphic materials to communicate design intent, and coordinated multidisciplinary review efforts to ensure project goals, accessibility requirements, and design standards were successfully integrated throughout the process.
